The Best Techno Festivals in India (2026)
of reading - words
India is establishing itself in 2026 as one of the most dynamic festival scenes in Asia, driven by Goa and its global psytrance heritage, Mumbai and its large-scale EDM events, Pune and its eclectic electronic line-ups, all the way to desert Rajasthan where the most cutting-edge meeting on the subcontinent is held. Eight unmissable events mark the calendar from January to December 2026.

For its 10th anniversary edition, Goa Sunsplash confirms its leading position among Asian sound system gatherings. Installed on the privileged site of the Thalassa Beach Boutique Resort in Mandrem (North Goa), the festival deploys three stages powered by hand-built Jamaican sound systems. The DNA of the event - bass music, dub, sound system culture - directly joins the world of electronic music: the deep bass, the real-time mixing techniques and the techno/electronic satellite evenings that surround it make it a full-fledged event for dance culture. The 2026 edition lists Luciano (Jamaica) and Macka B (United Kingdom) among the headliners. Cosmopolitan audience 20-35 years old, beach atmosphere and international sound system culture, two days from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. The perfect opportunity to kick off the Goa winter season before the February peak.
🗓️ Date: January 17-18, 2026
📍 Location: Thalassa Beach Boutique Resort, Mandrem, Goa, India

Lollapalooza India confirms for its 4th edition its base in Mumbai, at the prestigious Mahalaxmi Racecourse. If the global franchise is known for its diversity (indie, rock, hip-hop), the electronic component of the 2026 edition is particularly strong: Knock2, Sammy Virji and The Midnight host four stages over two days representing more than 20 hours of live music. The 40+ artists scheduled also include OAFF x Savera and Karsh Kale, two references in Indian electronic music. The event is distinguished by its high-end international production, its VIP and Platinum zones and an urban audience aged 18-35 from the four corners of the country. The 4th edition also marks the first visit to India of Linkin Park, which attracts exceptional national attention and brings the visibility of the festival to a record level, benefiting all of the electronic programming present on site.

HillTop Vagator is the global sanctuary of psytrance - and its 15th edition in 2026 confirms this status unambiguously. For four consecutive days and four nights, the legendary site of Vagator (North Goa) hosts three complementary stages: the Main Stage reserved for large-scale international psytrance, the Genesis Stage oriented experimental and underground, and the Chill Top for ambient sets. The 2026 line-up is among the most spectacular in the history of the festival: Tristan, Astrix, Captain Hook, Ace Ventura, Electric Universe, Faders, Avalon and Laughing Buddha follow one another on an uncompromising program for genre purists. International festival-goers and winter travelers from Goa find themselves in an extraordinary atmosphere, far from mainstream EDM formats, faithful to the original spirit of Goa Trance of the 1990s brought to its current technical and sonic peak. A must-see for any psychedelic trance enthusiast.

After ten years at Alsisar Mahal, Magnetic Fields reaches a historic milestone in 2026 by reinventing itself under the name "Nomads" at a new site: Abheygarh, in Khetri, in Rajasthan. This geographical change in no way betrays the identity of the festival, considered the most cutting-edge electronic event in South Asia. Eight stages, 50+ artists, a demanding curation that mixes Indian electronic artists (Rounak Maiti, Zokhuma, Karshni) and leading international headliners (Rival Consoles, D. Tiffany, Auntie Flo, Barker). The high-end boutique format attracts a cosmopolitan audience aged 25-40, conscious and passionate, who experience the festival in its entirety - tickets regularly sell out within a few days after a pre-registration phase. VH1 Supersonic 2026

Photo credit: VH1 Supersonic / EDMLI
Since 2013, VH1 Supersonic has established itself as one of the pillars of the Indian electronic calendar, and the 2026 edition at Mahalakshmi Lawns (Pune) confirms this reputation with a line-up that intelligently mixes registers. Marshmello represents the general public and mainstream EDM side of the event, while Bonobo - a rare presence in a festival of this scale - clearly signals an ambition towards sophisticated electronic downtempo. Jaden Smith completes a transgender poster that reflects the festival's appetite for hybrid pop cultures. Two-day format, massive production with signature mainstage, pyrotechnics and giant screens. Audience 18-30 years old mainly from the Maharashtra metropolises. The event takes place in Pune's dry season, ideal climatic conditions for outdoor night sets. An accessible festival in terms of price (GA references at ~38 EUR for a 2-day pass) which maintains top-level production.

We Are Lost Festival Goa 2026 (1st Indian edition)

Photo credit: We Are Lost Festival / Thalassa Goa - official press
This is one of the most exciting announcements of the Goa 2026 season: the first Indian edition of We Are Lost Festival, an international progressive and melodic house franchise led by Guy J and Guy Mantzur, two of the most influential artists of the genre globally. The setting lives up to the event: Thalassa Beach in Ashwem (North Goa), an emblematic place for high-end Goan beach club culture. Compact and targeted format - one day, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., sunset-to-night - for an intimate progressive experience with a carefully selected line-up: Guy J, Guy Mantzur, David Phimister, Greenage, Leon Pereira and Priya. The accessible entry prices (from ~16 EUR) contrast with the artistic demands of the line-up, a sign that the organizer is seeking to anchor the brand in India before potentially gaining momentum. An ideal format for prog/melodic fans who want an alternative to large EDM formats.
🗓️ Date: February 27, 2026
📍 Location: Thalassa Beach, Ashwem, Goa, India
💵 Price: from ~16 EUR

Launched in 2010 in Pune, NH7 Weekender is India's historic multi-genre festival - nicknamed the "happiest music festival" - and its return in 2026 under a new title sponsor (ICONiQ White) confirms the event's attachment to its city of origin. Over three days at Mahalakshmi Lawns, the festival deploys a program that covers indie, hip-hop, comedy and, decisive for our selection, a notable electronic component with Nucleya (Indian bass music), OAFF x Savera and MXRCI. The NH7 atmosphere is deliberately more relaxed than Sunburn or VH1 Supersonic: families, couples and music lovers aged 20-45 live together on a carefully designed site. Ticketing is via the Zomato app (official partner) with general sales open since February 13, 2026. A different way of experiencing the Indian electronic scene, integrated into a broad musical culture festival, faithful to the original spirit of Pune as the cultural capital of Western India.

📍 Location: Mahalakshmi Lawns, Pune, Maharashtra, India
💵 Price: from ~55 EUR (GA full pass)

Sunburn Festival 2026 (19th edition - "Awaken the Core")

Photo credit: Vyacheslav Argenberg / Wikimedia Commons CC BY 4.0 (historical Goa edition)
Sunburn is Asia's EDM flagship, India's best-known electronic festival since its creation in 2007, and its 19th edition marks a major historic turning point: the event leaves Goa after more than 15 years and takes over the Mahalaxmi racecourse in Mumbai for an edition condensed into two days, subtitled "Awaken the Core". The site - one of the few large-capacity outdoor spaces in the heart of the city - allows production on the scale of global mainstages: signature mainstage, pyrotechnics, giant LED screens, calibrated sound for tens of thousands of spectators. The 2026 format also includes an indoor closing party at the NSCI Dome (6,000 seats, separate ticket) on December 20. Public mainstream EDM young urban people aged 18-35, from all over India and the global Indian diaspora. Prices cover a very broad spectrum, from the accessible GA (~55-77 EUR depending on the purchase phase) to the legendary Platinum Pass (up to ~9,100 EUR in a very limited edition). To remember for the end of 2026, Sunburn remains the absolute reference of the Indian EDM scene.
🗓️ Date: December 18-20, 2026 (festival Dec. 18-19, closing party NSCI Dome Dec. 20)
